Bus Stops
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information regarding the provision of real time audio-visual announcements at bus stops within your council's area:
1. Total Number of Bus Stops:
The total number of bus stops in your council area.
2. Number of Bus Stops fitted with real time audio information systems:
The number of bus stops that are equipped with audio information.
3. Number of Bus Stops with real time visual information:
The number of bus stops that are equipped with visual announcements.
4. Implementation Details:
a. A brief description of the criteria or policy used to determine which bus stops are equipped with audio and/or visual announcements.
B. A brief description of the requirements of audio and/or visual announcements, as defined by the local transport authority.
5. Future Plans:
Any future plans or strategies for increasing the coverage of audio and/or visual announcements at bus stops.

4. a. Units were installed at transport hubs along with sites that were equipped with previous system and that were still well used by passengers.
b. Our installations are included in a 3 -authority partnership with Essex County Council and Southend Council. The contract is run by Essex County Council and the specifications for the units sit with them.
5. We have plans to install a further 10 units at locations to be decided between 2025-2030. This will be dependent on further funding from the Department for Transport under Bus Service Improvement Plans (BSIP) or subsequent schemes.
