Childrens social care placements
This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I would like to request the following information:
1. How many Looked After Children under the care of your council were placed as at 31st December 2023:
1. Outside the council’s boundary and more than 20 miles away from home?
2. Outside the council’s boundary and more than 50 miles away from home?
3. Outside the council’s boundary and more than 100 miles away from home?
2. How many Looked After Children's residential care placements (both external and in-house) were costing more than £10,000 per week as at 31st December 2023 (whether you were paying for it standalone or in combination with health partners)?
3. As at 31st December 2023, what was the highest weekly cost of a Looked After Child's residential care placement that your council was paying for standalone (i.e. no other partner organisations such as Health were contributing towards it)?
4. As at 31st December 2023, what was the highest weekly cost of a Looked After Child's residential care placement that your council was contributing to with other partners such as Health?
5. In relation to both questions 2, 3 and 4, what were the names of the residential care homes where the Looked After Children were residing?

5. In relation to both questions 2, 3 and 4, what were the names of the residential care homes where the Looked After Children were residing? This is classified information and we can’t share this. Information exempt under Section 38: Public Health and Safety. Information is exempt if its disclosure under the Act would, or would be likely to endanger the physical or mental health of any individual, or endanger the safety of any individual.
