Annual electoral canvass begins

Residents are being encouraged to ensure they are registered to vote as Thurrock Council begins its annual electoral canvass.
Between Friday 23 August and Sunday 15 September, households across the borough will receive a form requesting that occupants verify the accuracy of the information on the electoral register.
Residents must advise the council if any changes to the details of the form are needed, or confirm the details are correct if the form is requesting a response to be given.

Voting by post in the General Election 2024

The application period for a postal vote in the 2024 General Election has now closed (5pm, Wednesday 19 June). If you have applied in time, you will receive a postal vote ballot pack. This will tell you how to vote by post, along with the date and time by which we need to receive your completed pack.

Poll cards for elections on Thursday 2 May 2024

With elections taking place on Thursday 2 May 2024, make sure you look out for your poll card.
Starting on Friday 22 March and through the following week, poll cards are being delivered to the homes of registered voters.
There is still time for you to register to vote, if you have not already done so – go to GOV.UK: Register to vote.

Inspiring the next generation of voters for Make Your Mark week

On Monday 29 January, Make Your Mark kicked-off in Thurrock with the aim of inspiring young people across the borough to take part in the UK's largest youth consultation.
Make Your Mark is part of UK Youth Parliament's ambition to determine which topics are most important to young people including crime, transport and the environment.
The previous campaign in 2022 showed that health and wellbeing was the biggest issue that young people wanted addressing.
