Cabinet Member meets with community to discuss anti-social behaviour concerns

Earlier this week (Wednesday 20 November), Cllr Victoria Holloway, Cabinet Member for Place and Environment, met with residents and local businesses to hear about their ideas and concerns around tackling anti-social behaviour.
Cllr Holloway was joined by members from Thurrock Council's Housing, Environment and Community Safety Teams, as well as members of Essex Police on a walkabout in Belhus, South Ockendon.

Transport Safety Officers launched

This week sees the launch of new Transport Safety Officers across public transport in Essex, Thurrock and Southend.
This pilot scheme, developed in collaboration between Thurrock Council, Southend-on-Sea City Council, and councils under Essex County Council, has received funding from Department for Transport (DfT), totalling £490,000.

Council awarded possession of property from anti-social tenant

Thurrock Council has regained possession of a council property linked to a tenant who is serving a 28-month prison sentence for supplying Class A and Class B drugs.
On Thursday 12 May 2022, Mr Jean Claude Wembo, from South Ockendon, was sentenced to 28 months after being convicted in supplying Class A and Class B controlled drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, and possession of Class B drugs (cannabis).
