Thurrock Council has joined the Mid and South Essex Shared Care Record to enhance the care that residents accessing its adult social care service receive.
The council has been working with partners within Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) to develop and implement the Shared Care Record. Adult social care information will be shared on the digital platform, which brings essential health and care information from local organisations and authorities in one place, including treatment histories, care plans and more.
Cllr Mark Hooper, Cabinet Member for Health and Well-being, said: “I am delighted that we have joined the Mid and South Essex Shared Care Record which will enable residents, particularly those under our adult social care service, to receive the best possible care.”
Dr Rohit Rajamohan, a GP in Orsett said: “The Shared Care Record unites various professionals including myself as a GP to co-ordinate faster, make informed decisions and empower patients in their holistic care. I trust that it will play a pivotal role in betterment of patient outcomes in future.”
