Thousands of students across Thurrock received their GCSE results today, Thursday 22 August.
Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children's Services and Education, said: “It was wonderful to visit Grays Covent High School and The Hathaway Academy this morning to talk with some of the students who were receiving their GCSE results to hear all about their hard work and what they have planned for the future.
“I know some young people may be nervous about leaving secondary school and may be unsure of what route to take for their next steps.
“If they are still looking for options I thoroughly recommend getting in touch with our Inspire Youth Hubs. They have a team of Career Advisers who can offer help and advice, as well as connections to colleges and employers to find the right pathways.
“They are hosting post-results day support sessions on Tuesday 27 August and are available for one-to-one appointments."
The Inspire Hub in Grays has arranged a special support session for anyone struggling to decide on their next steps following the GCSE, BTEC and A-level results days.
The sessions will run from 10am until 3pm on Tuesday 27 August at the Inspire Hub in Orsett Road, Grays. It will be attended by the Inspire Hub's team of career advisors, as well as representatives from South Essex College, USP College and Central Training Group, who will be able to advise on options for apprenticeships, courses or universities.
Anyone aged 16 to 25 can visit the Inspire Youth Hub (24 - 28 Orsett Road, Grays) between Tuesday and Friday, or they can get in touch with the team to make an appointment.
