Senior leadership meet with local residents in Stifford Clays

20 September 2024

Earlier this week (Wednesday 18 September), Cllr Mark Hooper, Cabinet Member for Health and Well-being and Housing, together with Ian Wake, Executive Director of Adult and Health, met with local businesses and residents in Stifford Clays to hear about their ideas and concerns within the local area.

The visit started on Crammavill Street, hearing from local businesses about day-to-day life in the area and where they felt improvements could be made. They then spoke with parents from Stifford Clays Primary School before meeting with staff at Stifford Clays Health Centre.

The discussions focused on addressing concerns raised by the community, identifying solutions, and gathering input to better inform future council decisions.

It also gave residents the opportunity to gain a better insight into the council's future plans. Further visits across the borough are set to take place over the coming weeks.

Cllr Mark Hooper, who is also ward Councillor for Stifford Clays, said: "These visits give us a real opportunity to listen, respond, and build stronger connections with our communities and the people that we serve.

"I'm grateful to everyone who took the time to share their views, it has given us a great insight into your biggest concerns and will help guide our future plans.

"I am looking forward to more visits taking place. If you see any of us out and about, please do come up to us for a chat. We would love to hear your thoughts."
