Public notice

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under sections 1, 2, 4, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on the 13th February 2025, the order will come in to force on the 20th March 2025.

2. The general effect of the Order would be:

1. To revoke existing 50mph Speed Limit restriction at the locations specified below:-
2. A1306 Arterial Road Purfleet eastbound carriageway, from its junction with M25 junction 31 roundabout in an westerly direction for a distance of 220m
3. A1306 Arterial Road Purfleet westbound carriageway, from its junction with M25 junction 31 roundabout in an westerly direction for a distance of 30m

2. To implement a 40mph Speed Limit restriction at the locations specified below:-
3. The circulatory area of the M25 junction 31 Roundabout.
4. A1306 Arterial Road Purfleet eastbound carriageway, from its junction with M25 junction 31 roundabout in an westerly direction for a distance of 220m
5. A1306 Arterial Road Purfleet westbound carriageway, from its junction with M25 junction 31 roundabout in an westerly direction for a distance of 30m
6. Junction 30 northbound on-slip road, from M25 junction 31 roundabout in a northerly direction for a distance of 54m.
7. Junction 30 southbound off-slip road, from M25 junction 31 roundabout in northerly direction for a distance of 178m.
8. A1306 Arterial Road West Thurrock Road both carriageways between M25 Junction 31 roundabout and the roundabout connecting B186 West Thurrock Way, A1306 Arterial Road West Thurrock and service road.
9. Service road northbound, from the roundabout connecting B186 West Thurrock Way, A1306 Arterial Road West Thurrock and service road in a northerly direction for a distance of 101m.
10. The roundabout connecting B186 West Thurrock Way, A1306 Arterial Road West Thurrock and service road.
11. A282 southbound on-slip road, from M25 junction 31 roundabout in a southerly direction for a distance of 15m.
12. A282 northbound off-slip road, from M25 junction 31 roundabout in a southerly direction for a distance of 50m.
13. Stonehouse Lane in both direction between M25 Junction 31 roundabout and roundabout connecting Dolphin Way, Stonehouse Lane

4) Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
