Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Bradleigh Avenue and College Avenue, Grays
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Bradleigh Avenue between its junctions with Cresthill Avenue and Langthorne Crescent. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along College Avenue between its junctions with Bradleigh Avenue and Cresthill Avenue. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along College Avenue from its junction with Bradleigh Avenue for a distance of approx 100m in a westerly direction.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out new kerbing works, and installation of tactiles and a speed table
3) The alternative route for southbound vehicles on Bradleigh Avenue is Bradleigh Avenue, Lodge Lane, Southend Road, Palmers Avenue and vice versa for northbound vehicles. The alternative route for eastbound vehicles on College Avenue will be eastbound on College Avenue and then join main diversion. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times and for those west of Bradleigh Avenue in College Avenue.
4) The Order will come into force on the 20th February 2025 at 08:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place daily between 20th February 2025 and 21st February 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=141930898 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner 6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
