Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Cement Block Cottages and Towers Road, Grays

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on the 19th December 2024, the order will come in to force on the 27th January 2025.

2) The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a new waiting restriction “No Waiting At Any Time” at the following location(s);-

      1. On the eastern side of Cement Block Cottages, from a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Broadway in a northerly direction to a point opposite the northern boundary wall of No.11 Cement Block Cottages.
      2. Towers Road, the southwest corner of the circulatory route, the northern side from the tangent point of the northern kerbline of Towers Road, in a north-westerly direction to the tangent point of the eastern kerbline of Towers Road western arm
      3. Towers Road, the northern section of the circulatory route, the southern side from the tangent point of the eastern kerbline of Towers Road western arm, north, eastward and then south to the tangent point of the western kerbline of Towers Road eastern arm
      4. The southern arm of Crescent Avenue on the northern side from a point 4m west of the common boundary wall of Nos 18 and 20 Crescent Avenue following the kerb line in a north-westerly direction to a point of 10m south of the northern property wall of No 20 Crescent Avenue
      5. The southern arm of Crescent Avenue on the southern side from the eastern property wall of No 1 Crescent Avenue following the kerb line in an easterly direction for a distance of 5m.
      6. The southern arm of Crescent Avenue on the northern side from the eastern property wall of No 2 Crescent Avenue following the kerb line in an easterly direction for a distance of 5m.

3) A copy of the Made Order together with plans can be viewed on Thurrock Council’s website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices. 4) Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
