Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made the Order the effect of which is to:
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Princess Margaret Road from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approx 836m in a northerly direction.
- Prohibit any vehicles from Parking during the times of the Order along the eastern and western kerblines of Princess Margaret Road from a point approx 21m south of its junction with Love Lane for a distance of approx 95m in a northerly direction. Temporarily revoke the 7.5tn weight restriction on Station Road.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out footway reconstruction.
3) The alternative route for southbound vehicles is Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury Road, Buckingham Hill Road, Stanford Road, Orsett Cock Interchange, Entry Slip to A13 Westbound, A13 westbound, exit slip to A1089, Dock Approach Road, A1089, Thurrock Park Way Roundabout, A1089, St Andrews Road, Ferry Road, Access Road Windrush Way, Fort Road, Cooper Shaw Road, Church Road, and Station Road and vice versa for northbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.
4) The Order will come into force on the 7th April 2025 at 19:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place nightly between 7th April 2025 and 26th April 2025 between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=142528658 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner 6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
