Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, intends to make the above named Order (“the Proposed Order”).

2) The general effect of the Order would be to introduce new waiting restrictions “No Waiting At Any Time” at the following locations:

  1. Fairway, to go all the way around the central green area from the junction with Long Lane to the junction with Meadow Road.
  2. Meadow Road, on the north side from the common boundary of No.1 in a north-westerly direction for 21m.
  3. Meadow Road, on the south side from the common boundary of No12/14 Fairway in a south-westerly direction for 19m.
  4. Gourney Grove (north access), on the eastern side from the boundary wall of No1 in a north-easterly direction 17.5m.
  5. Gourney Grove (north access), on the western side from the boundary wall of No2 in a north-westerly direction for 17.5m.
  6. Gourney Grove (east access), on the eastern side from the boundary wall of No76 Prince Phillip Avenue in a north-easterly direction for 12.5m.
  7. Gourney Grove (east access), on the western side 4m north of the boundary wall of No57 in a north-westerly direction for 11.5m

3) A copy of the Proposed Order together with the plans can be viewed on Thurrock Council’s website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices. Alternatively the proposals can be viewed by appointment during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm) by contacting the Transport Delivery Team via [email protected].  Those who are unable to use email can phone 01375 652652.

4) Any support/objection to the Proposed Order must be made in writing, giving the grounds on which it is made and sent to the following address Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL or sent via email to [email protected] to arrive on or before 16th January 2025. Any comments may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
