Call-in of cabinet decisions
A 'call-in' is a way for you to ask for a decision the cabinet has taken to be looked at again.
Once published, you can call-in a decision at any time during the next 5 working days.
You can:
- give the reason why the decision should be looked at again
- ask for the decision to be overturned, if there is evidence to show it was not made correctly
- ask for the decision to be overturned, if you know about other matters the cabinet did not look at when they made the decision
Who can call-in a decision
Cabinet decisions can be called-in by:
- a councillor, if a decision is important and affects their ward
- the chair of an overview and scrutiny committee
- any 2 members of an overview and scrutiny committee

- a voluntary group with an interest in the area
- a business in the area, except if it is about decisions on buying goods and services
- 10 members of the public who live, work or study in Thurrock
