Our responsibility

We are responsible for managing the risk of surface water flooding. This happens when heavy rain overwhelms drainage systems and flows over ground. We work with other organisations to raise awareness of the areas at risk and help people to be better prepared.

Many properties in Thurrock may not have experienced flooding before. This means owners and occupiers may be unaware of the potential problem.
