Housing transfers
If you are one of our tenants, or a tenant of a housing association living in Thurrock, and want to move to a different council or housing association property in Thurrock, you can apply to join our transfer list.
If you have no rent owing (rent arrears) and there are no problems with anti-social behaviour, you can join the list. You don't need to pass the local connection rules or financial rules set for new applicants to the housing waiting list.

Applying for a housing transfer
You can apply for a housing transfer by using the same online application form as new applicants for council housing. You will need your National Insurance number and other details about you and everyone in your household.

After you apply
Once your application has been activated, you will be placed on the transfer list.
If you meet the criteria for a priority band, you will be given the option either to remain on the transfer list or move to the housing waiting list with the appropriate banding. Further investigations may be necessary for assessment of priority bands.
The rules about how we allocate properties are included in our housing allocations scheme document.
