Sex establishment licensing

Make sure you have read our sex establishment guidance and conditions before applying. You should also speak to our planning department, to be sure you have the correct planning permission.

Apply for a licence

To make an application, go to:

Fees

The following fees apply:

• £4,000 for grant of a licence
• £2,900 for licence renewal
• £105 for transfer of a licence

Consultation process

All new and variation applications must be advertised in the following way:

• an advertisement, in the form prescribed by us, must be placed in a local newspaper circulating in the Thurrock area, not later than 7 days after the date of application
• a public notice, in the form approved us, must be displayed for 21 days beginning with the date of application, on or near the premises and in a place where the notice can conveniently be read by the public
• once the application has been advertised, you must complete and return a public notice certificate along with a complete copy of the newspaper which contains your advert
