The King's Award for Voluntary Service
The King's Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) is the highest award given to UK volunteer groups. It recognises the outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups of volunteers.
The award was created in 2002 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee and previously known as The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS). It has a status equivalent to the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) award given to individuals.
