We organise several different types of election.
Council elections
Elections for one third of the council took place in 17 of Thurrock's 20 wards on Thursday 2 May 2024.
Elections from 2025 will be 'all out', so all 49 councillor posts will be up for election at the same time.
The previous council elections took place for one third of the council on 4 May 2023.

UK Parliament elections
UK Parliament elections took place on Thursday 4 July 2024.
Within Thurrock, elections will be held for Members of Parliament to serve the Thurrock constituency and the South Basildon and East Thurrock constituency. You can check which constituency covers your address by going to UK Parliament: Constituencies.

Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner elections
Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) elections are held every 4 years. The next PFCC election is due in May 2028.
