How we safeguard vulnerable adults
All adults have the right to be safe from harm and live a life free from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
We work with others to prevent abuse and make sure we provide excellent and timely responses to the safety and protection of people or groups in our communities.
Safeguarding is everyone's business and our partners share our vision. We cannot deliver it alone, only by agencies working together, through common plans and strategies.
We share a protocol to make sure vulnerable people are protected in their homes and that care is taken when assessing housing status.
Thurrock's Safeguarding Adults Board
Thurrock's Safeguarding Adults Board works with agencies to improve practice, reports and responses to adult abuse. They make sure that our policies and procedures support and provide a solid framework to protect vulnerable adults in our community.
The board's annual reports show how we have worked to keep people safe in Thurrock.
