Contractor and trader parking permits
Contractors and traders undertaking works on properties within controlled parking zones or permit parking areas may be eligible for a contractor/trader parking permit. It is for use only when working within properties and vehicles are needed nearby for access to equipment.
Permit holders can park their vehicle in a permit holders-only bay within the zone or area. They can also park in a shared use parking bay – this is a bay that can be used by parking permit holders and motorists who display a valid pay-and-display ticket.
The permit does not give the right to park in a guaranteed parking place, and it cannot be used to park on single or double yellow lines within the zone or area.
Permits are issued for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. They must only be used for the duration and purpose of carrying out eligible works for Thurrock Council.
Permit charges
Charges from 1 April 2024 are as follows. Please note: These charges will be updated from 1 April 2025, as below:

Apply for a contractor/trader parking permit
Use our online My Account service to apply for a contractor/trader parking permit below. You can register to create a new account if you don't already have one.
When you login, you will be shown:
- Permits – a list of your electronic permits and their current status (older paper permits are not listed)
- Permit Applications Available – a list of the types of parking permit for which you can apply.
Under 'Permit Applications Available', go to the 'Contractor/Trader Parking Permit' option and use its 'Apply' button.
In your application, you must provide:
- your current contract number, if applicable
- proof of works being undertaken
- your vehicle registration document or lease agreement
