Visitor parking permits
If you live in a controlled parking zone (CPZ) or permit parking area (PPA), you may be eligible for either a resident parking permit or – if you don't have a vehicle of your own – a visitor voucher authorisation.
With a resident parking permit or visitor voucher authorisation you can use short-stay visitor parking permits so your visitors, including trades people, can park in the zone or area.
You can also apply for a visiting carers parking permit.
Permit charges
Free visitor parking permits are no longer be available.
Charges from 1 April 2024 are as follows.

You can buy up to 9 visitor parking permits at any one time.
Buying and using visitor parking permits
Use our secure online My Account service to manage your permits. First go to 'My Account – parking permits', below, then either 'Sign in' with your email address and password if you already have an account, or use the 'Register' option to create a new account if you don't have one.
When you login, you will be shown:
- Permits – a list of your electronic permits and their current status (older paper permits are not listed)
- Permit Applications Available – a list of the types of parking permit for which you can apply.
For visitors parking permits, select the 'Buy/Use Vouchers' option near the top of the screen. If you already have any 'Vouchers In Use' or 'Vouchers Available To Use', these will be listed for you.
To buy new vouchers, go to the table below the 'Buy Vouchers' heading. In the first column, find the 'Voucher Type' you need, and in the last column enter the 'Number of vouchers you wish to buy'.
Complete your purchase using the 'Buy' button that shows the total to pay at the bottom of the screen.
