Sexual health services data
An integrated sexual health service (ISHS) is commissioned by our Public Health department.
The ISHS service includes:
- GPs
- contraception clinics
- sexual health clinics
- sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing clinics
- genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinics
- pharmacies
- sexual assault referral centres
- young people's services
Funding
Funding details for 2017/18:
- total budget – £1,634,689.00, including £60,000 for GP and pharmacy service level agreements, which cover long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and emergency hormonal contraception (EHC)
- total invoices received in last 12 months due to GUM cross-charging for Thurrock patients provided treatment outside of the area – 5, of which none were paid
Funding details for 2016/17:
- total budget – £1,731,207.76, including £84,000 for GP and pharmacy service level agreements, which cover long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and emergency hormonal contraception (EHC), plus £250,000 allocated to GUM cross-charging for Thurrock patients provided treatment outside of the area
- contract value for integrated sexual health service – £1,344,000
- reduction in sexual health spending between 2015/16 and 2016/17 – 0%
