The government's Prevent programme supports people who are at risk of becoming involved with terrorism through 'radicalisation'. That is, through being encouraged to develop extreme views or beliefs in support of terrorist groups and activities.

Learn how to support people who are vulnerable to radicalisation

The government's Prevent Duty Training Service offers training for people working in sectors covered by the Prevent duty. This includes education, health, local authorities, police, prisons, probation and youth justice. Other sectors that are not covered may also complete their training.

If eligible, you can complete training on:

• Prevent awareness – includes new case studies and animation that provide an overview of the programme and what to do if you spot concerning behaviours
• Prevent referrals – includes best practice guidance on how to be robust and considered when wording concerns about an individual, so you have confidence in making a referral
• Channel panel and Prevent Multi-Agency Panel (PMAP) – for anyone who may be asked to contribute to, sit on, or run a Channel panel or PMAP
• refresher awareness – a condensed version of the awareness course for anyone who would like a reminder of the important points
