Volunteering with the council

Volunteering with Thurrock Council

Volunteering is about doing something to benefits others, not for financial gain.

Volunteering can take many different forms such as:

  • helping with activities
  • helping train or teach people
  • supporting clubs and groups
  • helping to run programmes
  • befriending others

Volunteering has many benefits, such as:

  • gaining new experience
  • enhancing your skills
  • adding something new to your CV
  • building confidence
  • making new friends
  • feeling good about helping others

If you are interested in volunteering with us have a look at our list of opportunities. If you see an opportunity of interest, read the role description carefully and check who can be a volunteer.

Once you find a suitable role you should complete and send us an application form.

You will then be contacted to arrange an informal chat, either in person or by phone.
