Health at work guidance

Investing in employees' health and wellbeing is good for business. A heathy workforce has better morale, is more motivated and productive, has fewer absences and is less likely to leave. Our workplace health toolkit, below, helps local businesses support the health and wellbeing of their staff.

Health in All Policies guidance

Our Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2022-26 set out how 'place-shaping' can help tackle causes of poor health across Thurrock. 'Place-shaping' is about how we can use our powers and influence creatively for the general well-being of communities and citizens. Our 'Health in All Polices' guidance, below, is our approach to healthy place-shaping for new and future residents, both young and older.

Brighter Futures report

Brighter Futures surveys are commissioned to improve local data on the emotional health and well-being of children and young people. The new data improves local knowledge and contribute to improving services that meet the needs to children, young people and families.

Whole systems obesity strategy and framework

Obesity is a complex problem that is linked to poorer health outcomes and can lead to a number of health conditions, such as Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure.

Our social, economic and living environments can all influence obesity, which is why we need a new approach to the problem. A 'whole systems' approach refers to the network of factors that contribute to a problem or solution. Public, private and community sectors all have a role to play in making better use of resources, finding ways to change, and improving health and well-being in Thurrock.
