Exhibition: Christmas 1944

With the end of the war in sight, Christmas in 1944 was a time for optimism for people in the UK. In Thurrock, there was a temporary lifting of the blackout lighting ban and the restrictions on rationing were eased.

Come along to the Christmas 1944 exhibition to see what Christmas looked like in the front room of a home in 1944.

Learn about they types of things children would get in their stockings and what people would be getting up to on Christmas Day.

Date: Saturday 7 December until Friday 3 January (closing at 11 am on Friday 3 January)

Venue: Ground floor Gallery, Thameside Complex, Orsett Road, Grays, RM17 5DX

This is a free event.
